Shock Opinions

i have had nothing but problems from rough country shocks. 3 different trucks ive bought them for and i will never buy them again. terrible ride.
my father had them on his ranger, they were only maybe a year old and they just started falling apart.
i would definatly suggest a nitrogen charged shock. skyjackers are good imo..
i had some edelbrock shocks on my durango and i liked them ok..

According to this site that sells CST 3" springs, anything with 2" doesnt need longer shocks
http://performancelifts.com/cgi-bin/cart/CSCDX2.html
"Please note, the front shock absorber on the 2wd Dodge Ram 1500 is what limits the amount of front suspension travel. The engineers designed the Ram this way and it's wise to not alter the shock length on this vehicle. If you replace the factory front shock with one that is longer at full extension you can cause damage to the front suspension. By over-extending the front suspension the upper control arm ball-joint can bind and eventually wear out. The other problem is if the front suspension travels too far the upper control arm will knock against the top of the frame causing a clunk or clank to be heard while driving. For these reasons PerformanceLifts.com ONLY sells stock length front shock absorbers for use with the CST 3" leveling coil springs! Thats right, the shocks we sell for use with these 3" lift CST coil springs is a STOCK LENGTH replacment shock!"

i think i read somewhere that stock shocks off the old 80's + model fullsize bronco are perfect for leveled 3rd gen 1500 rams . pretty sure it was at dodge talk...
so im guessing 2wd's don't have bump-stops???
