my home made power wire/pics
installed the wire about a week ago, and man what a difference! The truck actually somewhat pins me back now! I think my mileage went down actually. The major difference is the amount of usable torque now. Usually the trans will downshift on some of the hills in my neighborhood, but now it only decelerates slightly. I also noticed that there is a bit of a garble in my exhaust when I rev the motor now. All in all, a great mod!
It's on the first page of the thread. Basically, the resistor goes in line with your air intake temp sensor and increases the resistance in the circuit. The computer reads this and thinks that the IAT is actually about 20 degrees cooler than what it really is. Because colder air is less prone to compression ignition than hot air(i.e. Knock, or preignition), the computer will compensate and advance the spark slightly and ignite the A/F mixture earlier than what is normal. The result is that there is more heat expanding at once when the cylinder is at TDC, therefore putting a greater force on the piston on the down stroke and making more power.
Because it is a diff engine with a diff PCM and diff setup, i doubt THIS one will work. Im sure there is a configuration for one that will work but this amount of resistance in this device IDK if it will work
