2005 1500 cigar lighter socket
OK maybe I am a dork but I removed the screw by the bag holder and then I pulled until I was afraid the whole console would snap and it did not come out. Does one need to pry around the edges?
I am a dork. After taking out the screw I tugged and pulled until I thought the whole thing was about to break. I gave it one more try with a little jerk instead of a pull and it came off one of the tabs then the others came out with a little jerk. Thanks for the help guys.
OK I guess I will need to confess and give you all a good laugh. I am such an A'hole. Before I took off the panel I checked the fuses, Sure enough the fuse for the cigar lighter was blown. I replace the fuse and checked the lighter. No voltage was neasured in the unit either. Still did not work. So I "assumed" it must be the socket. I took out the panel and measured the voltage at the wires leading to the socket. Still nothing. Then it dawned on me. The key has to be on for the cigar lighter to work. Oh well at least I know how to take of the front panel now. Go ahead call me all the names you want. I deserve it.
