Do the 4.7's have resonators? If so, how do you go about removing it?

Just take it to a muffler shop have them bend you a pipe to put in place of the muffler. Keep the resonator on it sounds great. Nice deep mellow sound, like an older muscle car. Cost about $60 dollars. It is not as loud as you think it will be. If you don't like it you can always put a flowmaster or what ever muffler you want in it's place. Don't believe the BS you will hear that you need the back pressure, That is totally absurd. I did it runs great sounds good I just wish it was eve louder. You just will never get it much louder while retaining the cat.

Hi all.
I just had a shop installed a Flowmaster 40 and we removed both my resonators,... yeah my freaking truck had 2 under it.
Heres some pics of them.

Also if your interested in kinda knowing what a 4.7l sounds like with a flowmaster 40 and resonators removed i have a video / sound link at my website / homepage if you want to check it out. You may have to turn your Volume up a bit i used to tight of a compression when making it. new video to follow shortly.

Hope this helps ya, Sorry, i have no idea about the back presure thing, Truck Runs and Sounds Great.

Hey 2005 Dakota CC 4.7l, just listened to your clips. Got a Woody ....

Want a similar sound fer me new 05 Hemi ... do you know what this does to your warranty, if anything ?

I was thinking about some kind of cat back system with the flow masters. I also ran into a guy with an older Ram at a gas station who told me that there is a cheaper way to go with more "sound".
