so i just got back from watching a ram go up in flames, my buddy got a call from his room mate that a truck in their lot caught fire and might burn the apartment down, so we drove over as fast as we could so we could save his hunting gear. we get there and the apartment wasn't lit up, but a dodge ram was being put out by the firemen. no body was around it when it lit up, so i have no idea what happened. hope this ain't a new dodge problem for sure! i tried to get pictures but it was nearly dark so my phone was useless.

I bet it was due to improper electrical wiring. Same sorta thing guys do for many things. They don't upgrade wiring or use a relay...etc....
Just think about how many times the average guy on here has altered or tapped into the factory wiring??? many times.
It was dark out yet the flames from the truck didn't stand out enough to take a pic or was it extiguished already?

Ditto that. Sloppy wiring is likely often the cause -- not exactly "spontaneous" combustion.
the kid who owned it thinks his amp blew up, but the fire was in the engine bay. the fire was just put out when we pulled up. and yeah, saving the hunting gear is priority number 1,2,3 and 4!
