torque converter would be fairly easy imo. although ive dropped a many auto trannys im my day.

all he needs is a part. ed can handle this. yes, its technically a trans job, but it's not actually getting into the guts of the trans. I vote TC.

its not that its hard to do but with your 4x4 its alot more involved than just dropping the trans.

you just drop the trans and transfercase together, no biggie. all ya need is a couple of buddies if you dont have the cool transmission adapter for your jack.

no with a 4x4 you also have to remove the exhaust as well if you still have the y pipe. so he would need to remove his exhaust from the headers back then remove the drive shafts transfercase and drop the trans.

didnt know about the exhaust, im used to my 5.9 i always forget pretty much everyone else has a hemi. i knew about the driveshafts but why do you have to seperate the transfercase?

yeah in order to back out the trans you have to unbolt the headers and remove the Y. The transfer case, I dont really know to much about what needs done there or if it can be left in place or if it needs dropped too.

Again its a great mod if you want to put the work into it but it'll cost more than $400.

Another mod you could look into to give it a bit more pep would be a ported throttle body. I need to order one this week.
