Keyless entry

Default Keyless entry

I got a build sheet and It says my truck has keyless entry...I have no remotes is the only wat to program remotes to goto the dealer? Should I buy the remotes seperatly?

look in your owners manual and see if there are instructions to program them.
if not then the dealer will probably have to do it.

The stealership may be the only way to go unless you have a nother remote already which you don't. Once you have one you can buy one for 40-60 bucks and program it from the one you already have.

yes, do this first.....I assume people hvae already done this in most cases...

You have to have a working remote to add a working remote. A locksmith that sells transponders may be able to help, but it's probably off to the dealer for ONE. Then buy a couple more from eBay. Once you have a working one, you can add up to three, I believe. I bought two off eBay for < $40. Make sure the FCC numbers match, the one you buy to the others.

Ok i checked the Manuel and it told me howto program.....and you do not need a working remote to do it. That being said I called the local auto store to see how much thier OEM keyless entry remotes were and they told me they need a FCC ID # to look it up...Where would i find this number?

Screw them, get a real mopar one off ebay, replace the battery and go to town.

On the back of the remote you MUST have to program another. Might want to read the manual again. One of the first steps is press two buttons on the existing remote...
