ive really been wanting to do this, but ive been thinking about red. id like to have my dome lights red, floor lights red, etc. only problem is finding a 2 din head unit with red lights (so EVERYTHING matches). but seems like they're all blue so i might have to do all the dash lights in blue to match but keep my ambient & overhead lighting in red. probably wont look too bad. has anyone switched their dash lights out for red bulbs or is blue the best/nicest color to use?

 

You cant do red as far as I am aware because of the coloring of the bezel, its apparently blue to start with and they use amber bulbs to get that green color, and red wont show through the blue, you will just get a really bad coloring... I have done some heavy reading into this, and I have a bunch of the stuff to start doing it, I just need to find the time.

 

guess i'll have to do blue dash lighting and everything else in red then. blue is a bit easier to match with stereo head units and other digital components though. but thats why i wanted red so its way different

 

Has anyone done this in an 07? If so, were the bulbs mentioned by XILL any different? And was there any differance in installation?

search his post. he got a speedo kit. i think around 200 bucks but not sure how hard to install

 

ah yea the speedo gauges. was thinking about these too but id still have to swap out the LEDs for the ac controls, light switches etc. if those can't be red then i'll stick to blue. dont want my interior to start lookin like a bag of lollipops lol

 

yeah ive got red dome lights and cd player so maybe santa will bring me the faceplate
