Volant Cold Air Intake
Well I bought the Mopar cold air intake early this summer and the thing is a piece of crap, it's already broken in two spots so I have a zip tie supporting it in one area. I've decided to just go ahead and buy a whole new cold air intake and have been focused on a Volant. My brother's 05 F150 has a Volant in it and I just absolutely love how it looks under the hood and the performance it added to his F150. I noticed however on the RAM's it keeps the HEMI hat on there which I'd prefer for looks but would it still give out that loud roar when stepped into? I read around and people said that cold air intakes that keep the HEMI hat won't produce the loud roar when stepped into compared to ones that remove the HEMI hat. Is this also true for the Volant, does anyone here have the Volant CAI to verify this?

Looks like I'll go with a K&N. What's the difference between the KN-57 and the KN-77 besides the pipe? If talking in basic knowledge, would the KN-77 be better?
The reason why you leave the hemi hat with the volant is so you dont lose top end power....
Replacing the hemi hat...yeah you might leave out the hole faster but get beat by a honda later.......

I would be suprised if the HEMI hat would increase your power at any rpm level. It looks like a giant "muffler" for the sound if you ask me. My buddy made a pvc CAI and left the hemi hat on and I made one and removed the hat, and mine was louder for sure!
