My 2007 don't look like that. They are curved up a little. This is a pic from a couple months ago.

I was looking at mine while getting new shoes on him. Mine has the trailering package, and the bottom leaves on mine look much like yours. Whoops, I just looked at your pics again. Those upper leaves definitely don't look right. Was there a load in the bed?

This is due to the extended length of the shackle creating a different angle to the datum line, it decreases the spring rate and load capacity, and definately makes them flatten out. Especially a 3" lift shackle, which i just found out he is running.

Blocks don't do any of that, what i meant earlier was, it doesnt improve that situation.

Why would I make this up lol.

I could post a bunch of links to articles that proove and support this, but I'll just leave it to whoever cares enough, to simply google this: "do lift shackles flatten leaf springs?"
This is why a little knowledge is dangerous. At extreme shackle lengths, there can be some flattening. A 3" shackle extension is nowhere near that ballpark. Since you're such an expert on shackles, I am sure you realize that a 3" shackle only provides 1.5" of lift. In addition to my current truck, I have had 2 lifted chevys, 2 ford broncos, 2 f150s, and a lifted van. None of them had this supposed spring flattening that you are claiming as a "fact." I can read the articles too (and so can everyone else!). It's not my job, or anyone else's too go find this information that you are claiming as fact.

THX ~RAM~ but im not really worried about them right now. I was just wondering about them. The heaviest thing in the back of my truck would be my dogs (Mastiffs and Rotts) and some furniture from time to time. You know how people love to wanna use your truck because you were smart enough to buy one and they werent. But like I said, I do pull a 16ft trailor from tim to time and have had some VERY heavy loads on it.

Hey RubberFrog,

I never said I was an expert on anything..

Also, you dont have to tell me your history on lifted vehicles, I'm not challenging you bro, I just asked a question. Does he have shackles? And there isn't 1 person I know, off this forum, who wouldnt agree with me about the shackles.

They definately contribute to flattening them out. Maybe a thicker, leaf pack, with more leaves won't flatten with a decent size shackle, but hell I don't know.

I still think the shackles flattened them out. I think if he didnt have the shackle lift, his towing wouldnt of flattened out his springs like that.

Maybe I am right, maybe I am wrong.

I dont want it to go beyond that. Your experienced with lifts, you dont think the shackles did anything, then thats fine.

My Penguins just won there season opener so I am feeling good. Goodnight!

Hey weedahoe, I was under my truck a couple of weeks ago and i noticed the same thing. The same thing was going through my head that they werent suppose to be flat. But since someone is talking about it, I know im not crazy. I also bought my truck new, and never had a heavy load hauled or towed. Oh, by the way, i also wanted to put a 1in block in the rear. Do you have to get new shocks if you are putting a 1 in block????

X2. I was also under my truck last weekend installing my new exhaust a thought the same thing. The funnier thing was that I have a superlift add-a-leaf and it still looked a little flat. But! It still sits higher than all the stock 4x4 Ram's at work. I think your springs are exactly the way they are suppose to be.
