Default finally made the descision

Well im selling my 20" polished aluminum wheels and going to replace with 17x9" kmc xd series wheels. The enduro, the addict or the revolver. Any suggestions on those 3. Also the tire are going to be nitto dura grappler 285/75/17. They are 34" tires with torsion bars cranked. Im going for the black look. Going to tint the tails also. It will be a couple weeks before i bite the bullit and go for it. Just need suggestions on that setup for now.

im just worried the tire might look a little narrow and the tire might be a little heavy for a 1500.

Thumbs up

Uh? The tire will be wider than any of the oems. It would be about 3/8" wider than the 20s and 3/4" wider than the popular 265/70X17. It would be less than a inch taller. Unless your going to a load rated tire, you will not notice the weight difference. It should look good!

Good luck

I agree. The rockstars on everything arond here. I saw a honda crv with them the other day

I'd recommend the xd spies. my buddy has the EXACT combo you're thinking of on his gold 07 2500 and it's one of the nicest combos I have ever seen.

Yea my original plan was to throw some a/t on there but I tow a 25ft toy hauler and want a nice smooth ride and a long lasting tire. I drove a mega cab with 35" pro comp xtreme A/t and it was the worst ride possible. The tire hum was insane.

I would get a wheel with enough backspacing to fir a beefy tire as far as width goes. I think my 275's are a bit narrow myself. 285 isn't much wider. As long as your going aftermarket wheels, get some 305/70/17 tires. They will be plenty wide so not to look narrow. Narrow enough for better traction than much wider tires and 305/70/17 are 12" x 33.8" if that's not tall enough(I think it's a perfect tire that fits perfectly in the Rams wheel well) Than a 305/75/17 is a 35" tire.

4.5BS or 4.75 BS is good. 5" BS may be getting close on the 35's but should fit the 33.8's no prob. Just remember, then smaller the backspacing, the furether out the fender the wheel will stick out. Stock 20's have 5.75" BS

Yea I would definitly get a 305/70/17 but the DURA's only come in 285/75/17. Anyone have a picture with that exact tire. The back spacing on the wheel is 4.5 I think. I am going to the place this week to find all the specs. Also, that tire is only $220 vs $250+ for any other A/T. What tire do you all know of that last long?
