Default Update on truck surging issue and broken crankshaft bolt!!!

Hey everybody,
For those of you that didn't see my last few posts I have been having some issues with this damb hemi of mine. Anyways, I was having some surging issues from a dead stop once I started to accelerate and also when i was just maintaining speed at 50kph. On top of that I dropped my truck off on Monday to get a new crankshaft seal put in (the front one) as it was leaking. Well when they tried to remove the bolt it sheared with about 1/4in left in the bore of the crank.

Needless to say I hated my truck for the past few days...lol

Well I finally got it home today and the shop that did the work didn't charge me a penny more than what was quoted to me, just had to wait for the freaking bolt to come in. So that was good news, new seal and no leaks.

Now on to the surging problem. I had some advice from some great members on here as to check my EGR valve and to clean my throttle body.
1st: when I cleaned the throttle body it was definetely in need of it, the front was a bit dirty, however the back was just caked with crap and i'm thinking that might have been one of the issues with surging as it was tough to move the throttle from the idle position. Cleaned her right up with throttlebody cleaner and replaced.

2nd: I removed my EGR valve and inspected it. The valve itself wasnt too bad actually, however I did notice something wrong with the actuator itself. In the space between the actuator and the valve I could see something poking through the actuator support plate. It looks like a pin of some sort puctured its way through!! Inspecting the new one you can definetely tell this was a problem. So I put on the shiny new EGR and cleaned the return tube back up to the intake manifold (figured I might as well as I had one end exposed anyways) and hooked everything back up.

3rd: Recalibrated my TPS just to make sure it was in it's proper mode

4th: And finally I did a seafoam job using my brake booster line and put it in my fuel tank. I didnt' do the oil as I have fresh oil in it and don't plan on changing the oil for a little while. I didn't get as much smoke as they do in the videos on youtube, but I got a little bit! I wanted to smoke out the neighbourhood, but I guess I didnt' have too bad of a buildup...lol

RESULTS:

Instant satisfaction is all I can say. There is no more surging issues, the throttle response is alot more crisp, and there is no check engine light.

I just want to extend a thanks to everybody who had given me advice and posted the DIY's on here, it was a great help. THIS SITE ROCKS!!. If it was warm I would have taken pics, but I wanted to get done sooner than later...lol
Next on the agenda i am probably going to change the spark plugs, as my mileage is 168,000 kms.

I'll second what you posted about the help on here 04LS6.
Being in England, no one has the in depth experience that you guys in the States have.
I have been helped out many times on this forum and like you, say a big THANKS to everyone for their help.
This site does indeed ROCK!!!!!!
Al.
