This is my new frankenstien exhaust,Magnaflow 14" muffler into flowmaster stainless side exit dual tip. A guy I work with had a flowmaster kit that he robbed the muffler out of and he made me a good deal on the remnants,so I paired it with my new 14" Manaflow 3" in dual 2.5" out muffler and here's the result. sounds real nice. I've got the 18" and was wondering what the 14" sounded on the side exit. Is the muffler si/do? Or do the tips create the Y.

Thanks Dog ,means alot coming from you! The muffler is SIDO,the kit the guy had was for a 40 seriesFM there wasn't hardly any difference in distance on exiting the muffler between the pipes on the FM and my Magnaflow,I just had to add some pipe to make the tips exit in the right place since the kit was for a reg cab short bed. I left the front resonator on cuz of the MDS or it would be louder I'm sure. It's not bad at all now,you can tell when MDS engages but it's not really annoying or anything just different sounding.

 

You are actually quieter sounding it seems (mellower) than my 18" magnaflow SIDO with no resonators. I had only one resonator and it was out back. That got tossed along with the stock muffler. MDS was a real drag though. That was until i bought my DSP!

 

I was gassing up Friday and a 06 came down the road at about 45mph with something loud like a Rustmaster and it was in MDS mode. Sounded like somebody doing the motorboat in a pair of boobies CRAPPPPY!!

Does the Superchips also have the ability to turn off MDS? I'm trying to get my list together for Santa Claus.

 

from the vid it sounds a hell of a lot like mine, but i have a flowmaster muffler. my idle is a little louder tho. I wondered what it would sound like if i got a magnaflow.....i guess about the same lol. i do like the sound tho. i'm still about to switch out to a borla pro-xs, just to get rid of my flowmaster.
