Default Limited slip?

Hello. I'm new to this forum. I have an 05 1500 crew cab SLT 4x4 HEMI. When I mass the gas it only spins the right rear tire.....alot. I had the local dealer pull up the build codes. It had a 9.25 LD axle with 3.92 gears. I assume the LD means I have an open rear diff? Would LS mean it has a limited slip?

Anyway.....she's a one-wheel-wonder. On wet pavement it's really bad. What would be the cheapest/cost effective way to get two wheel action? I do very little off-roading so I don't need/want a locker. Thanks!

the LD actually means "light duty" on that part. This is what my build sheet says for limited slip.

Yeah...mine don't say that. Too bad, it's really the only thing I dislike about it right now.

The cheapest route would be to find a wrecked truck with the factory LSD in it, but an aftermarket unit is a better choice.

Can I get one from Dodge, or is the aftermarket going to be cheaper?

Anyone here gone down this road before? Thanks.

dunno about prices but the stock dodge LSD's tend to grenade, even jeeps do it, anyways an aftermarket LSD is gonna be the way to go, last longer and a better unit IMO

I went with the Detroit Tru Trac and have no regrets. I had the Stock LSD and it still wouldn't engage sometimes unless I tapped the brakes while hitting the gas. So I recommend an aftermarket one for sure.
