Question Need help best mud/all terrain on half ton

I have an 08 4x4 ram with the stock 20's off road tires for 20's are so expensive so i wanna make sure i get the best and longest lasting tire out there. I was thinking either toyo open countrys, bf goodrich, or the new trail grappler. Help i need some good suggestions.

First of all, what do you mean by "best".... Best in mud? Best on the trail? Longest lasting?

if it's off-roading you do, then the single best thing you can do is go to the smallest wheel you can mount (in your case 17's). More sidewall = better performance off road.

Nobody can give you a truthful answer on this without knowing what you plan on using your truck for.

im my experience if you do alot of mudding, all-terrains are not the way to go. unless you have a winch

I like my bf goodrich km2's. They are pretty quiet on the road and will go through almost anything.

I have the Toyo Open Country M/T's and they are amazing. I don't do any offroading and I do alot of driving. They are very quiet.

im with hammer on this one i had 20's on the ol red ram with nitto mudgrapplers loved them in mud that was it . the 20" rim you felt ever bump and the rim had no sidewall.
now in the great white hope im running 17"s with a allterain tire and it performs just as good if not better and i really noticed a feel difference in off-road and towing with the 17's

I have Cooper Zeons LTZ in 20" and love them, aggressive look without all the noise while driving...

Going to order 285/75/17 Toyo Open Country A/T's this week. They seem to be a popular tire with good performance for an A/T.

Good tire, but you might also want to take a look at the Nitto Terra Grappler, very similar tread, Toyo and Nitto are owned by the same company. Usually you can pick up the same size Nitto a good bit cheaper than the Toyo.

I recently picked up a set of Terra Grapplers for my Grand Cherokee in 265/65/17s for under $130 each. Very solid reviews for this tire...

Toyo A/T:
