Default Anyone running LT hdrs, with stock tune?

OK, after much searching and debating, Ive come up with three options.
Im installing long tube headers, cat back, and CAI on a stock 5.7 2006.
Ive confirmed that the stock computer will handle this, but possibly a little lean during certain conditions. My question is if anyone has experience with these three options, what problems if any did you run into, or no problems at all?

1. Stock Tune, no programming.
2. Diablo Predator, with Dyno tuning.
3. Superchips flashpaq with 6.1 30 lb/hr injectors.

My goal is some good performance, without losing the driveability of a daily gogetter. (1, no more cost, 2-3 bout the same cost extra.. 600-700$)

it should work ok stock...the only thing you'll have to worry about is throwin 02 sensor codes..but, if you keep the stock cats on that shouldn't be a problem.... and why would you consider bigger injectors? I'm cammed, p & p big valve heads, lt's with a diablo with custom tuning and I don't have a need for bigger injectors..

With LTs, those 6.1 30# injectors are supposed to level it out a bit if you are lean. But I guess you wouldnt know that unless you are really way off and smell it or have a good A/F gauge.

I was told by a guy at a doge dealership that does a lot of performance stuff, that the stock computer would handle the mods, and that if I went superchips, that the tune would run lean. With 60 lbs/hr injectors, the A/F almost comes out perfect with the SC.

Dang, I ordered the SC flashpaq before I learned this, and it will be here friday. so, I could return it, and ge tthe diablo, and dyno tune, or I could just buy 60 lb injectors for about the same amount of money.
heard the SC does a better job with the tranny.. ??

The stock PCM will handle it fine, There is no prob there. Lots of guys run close to what you are trying.

Link me to some 60# injectors because the 6.1 30#'ers are 400+ dollars.

Also need to know what year truck you have. SC does better that DSP on certain year trucks.

The cheapest I found them are 449 on ebay from henson..
I havent found any others..
Ive got a 2006..

Thanks for puttin up with me guys!!

Its been hard to find a dyno tune shop that can be convenient.. most of work the same hours I do, and my thinking is that if I can read the A/f off of the programmers, Im adept enough to do the tuning myself if I can get into the maps or have a view to do so.. Pretty close to what the dyno guys are gonna do anyways..

The LT headers with stock tune will only lean the A/F a miniscule amount, but combine it with the advance timing of ANY programmers canned performance tune and you'll be leaned out.
But instead of going to the expense of injectors, a $10 lower temp thermostat will do the same thing. The lower engine temp will keep it out of closed loop and the PCM will keep the mix richer. Wideband confirmed I'm just a fraction leaner than stock with LT's, SC set for perfomance and a 180* thermostat...

you dont need a dyno tune with those mods. get a wideband and use the diablo to adjust it from there your self and save the $200-$300.

Thanks guys, The only thermostat I found was a Jet..

Man, you might kill me here on the dodge forum, but I really miss my ford 460, The engine rebuild cost me just as much as all this just did, and I had well over 500 lbs of torque, and 350 hp. Added some 140 dollar headers, and the thing would put your head into the backglass. Then decided to replace the ole 650 holley with the 850, and DANG!! (650 was a stocker)
All for less than 3500 bucks.

But... Just wait... The Hemi is gonna be uncorked baby!
