Default Best 3rd Gen Year

Which 3rd Gen Ram is the best? Please explain why... I am in the market to buy a regular cab, V8/Hemi, Red Ram, but it's probably gonna be a third gen, I just have to pick which year would be best.

04 or 05. 03 hemis had some electrical issues, and the 06-08s are known for having front suspension problems. Plus, the 04-05s tend to have the best support in terms of tuning, aftermarket mods, etc.

depends on what you like. I have an 04 with the torsion bar front end which I like. some guys like the softer 06-up suspension, some hate it. but my 04 doesn't have mds, though lots of guys with 06-up don't like mds. the 06 has the newer headlights but the older tails.

if I had to pick a year, i'd pick 05 if it still has torsion bars, otherwise 04. just don't get an 03 or 06, they are kind of renegades and always get screwed with support and tuning and such.

^+1... although i've never heard of any electrical issues with 03's... besides with the '03 you get the free tmr delete and no egr valve. but the trans computer is seperate so tuners cant toutch the tranny on the '03 and the '03 gets the biggest gain with a superchips tuner..
i have heard of '04's and '05's that have stalling issues... something with the computer... although rare

I have the 07 and its great. I like how the headlights changed from 06 to 08 and they just look more meaner and nice. The inside looks good to. I love my 07 and wouldn't change it for any other year ram.

I like my '03 Dodge, but if I could chose in this style of headlights, I'd go with a 2005. It's newer, although a year more than an '04 not much difference, and has more options available. You want a supercharger? Not on an '03. You want a 3865 Superchips for the transmission gains? Not on an '03.

I have the '06 and I couldn't have ask for a better one. Mine has had no problems at all. I love the way the outside looks plus the inside is also great looking.
