Stupid question here but please answere
those stock goodyears that come on our 20" rims call 44 max I run at 40 cus it feels spongy an wears faster at manf. specs I got 55k out of orignals bought same to replace only three though used spare as new to cheapin the blow was in wy an they were expnsv (250 ea) wanted some nittos or smthng better but no money for that at the time.
HemiLonestar, the number on the side of the tire is the MAXIMUM pressure the tire can handle. That is not what you should be inflating to though. Always go with the recommended pressure from the vehicle manufacturer, which is on the drivers door or pillar next to it.

I have found that the truck drives best when using the pressure recommended in the door jam. Same as with other vehicles. Running more in the front usually tends to make the vehicle wander around on the road a bit.
My OEM Good Years are wearing fine. They have 21K on them and have a lot of tread left. Always run @ 36psi.
