Default Heated Seats and Overhead

Anybody have any idea on these?

2002 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Plus Laramie, 4x4 4 Door 5.9

Heated seats don't work, I hit the button and the yellow light on the switch just starts to flash, then turns off. What could this be? Does it for both sides.

Second, the overhead computer/console. When it's super hot out, it will actually turn on and function perfectly, with temp, compass, mpg, etc. 99% of the time, it does not even turn on. Fuses are all fine. Is there a way to remove this and check connections? I'm think one is just probably loose.

Thanks guys!

The seat issue sounds like possibly bad heating elements and the system is not seeing a complete circuit. Check under the seats and make sure everything is plugged in.

The Overhead sounds like a bad solder joint on a circuit board in the unit.

lxman is right...theres obviously not a short or high resistance or anything if all the fuses are fine. I would go over the wiring for these circuits. I would also check the circuit board ..again...like lxman said.

Do you guys know the best way how to remove the overhead so I can take it apart and give it a good once over?

open up the sun glasses holder, and there are two hex bolts to take out. once thats done, the front of the unit will just pull out. easy peasy.

I had to have my heating module (under drivers seat) replaced when my truck was 2 years old. I came out of the parts store and opened the door, and the whole truck smelled like burning wires. When I figured it out, I unplugged the module. I had the dealer replace under warranty.

That sucks, yeah, since my LED's are flashing I'm assuming both pads are just shorted out. All they do to replace it is put another mesh of wire over the old one, from what I understand reading the service manual. They'll probably charge me out the a$$ to do it though
