2" Drop Shackle
I have a 2005 Dodge ram 1500 Hemi 4x4 and I want you level it out, Im alil weary about the front end spacers or keys, a 4x4 guy from 4 wheel parts told me it can damage the front suspention or whatever, so I was looking around and of course ebay pops up with a 2" drop shackle...Anyone had any experience with these? Have them? Easy or hard to install? would I need to take it to a shop or can I do it in my driveway? do you possibly have any pics of the drop? I know the rep of ebay, but it comes with a lifetime warranty, so im not TOO worried.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks

RE: 2" Drop Shackle
NorcalReaper,
The Drop shackle is for your rear leaf springs. They are easy to install. My buddy installed them on his '03 Ram 1500 4x2 in his driveway. Took maybe an hour and a half if that. The result you will end up with will be a "mostly" level truck but your going to lower the rear end to match the front end. I don't know if that bothers you (lowering a 4x4 truck) or if you just want it level one way or another. As far as being mostly level, I mean when we installed his, it did lower his rear end but did not completely level the truck out. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions I can try to answer.

RE: 2" Drop Shackle
Basically, if I remember correctly, just a socket and wrench set to remove the old shackles and a jack. we just loosened the shackle bolts and jacked the rear of the truck up from the frame (or in this case we used his reciever hitch) until the tension was off of the bolts we loosened. Popped the bolts out, shackles off and installed the new ones the same way.

you need a adjustable wrench, a ratchet and a t55 torx bit available at advance or oreilly's and yeah 20 mins to do the deal its super easy i have them on my truck with o/l leaf delete....so i got a full 2" drop the shackles only give you a 1.5" drop even tho they say 2" i have a detail install sheet if you need it i can take a pic of it then upload it.....
