Im getting 10.7 mpg....wtf

I picked mine up with about 20 K kilometers (12 K miles) on it, filled it up, drove about 650 kilometers (400 miles), then pumped 91 L (24 gallons). I got about 16.7 mpg for that first tank, and that included a few pedal to the metal moments (gotta see what she can do!), and quite a bit of gravel. That was mostly hwy driving, averaging around 70 mph. I'm pretty sure that was 87 octane fuel as well. Since then, I have installed a K and N and upped the tire pressure to around 45 so I'll retest sometime soon. I'd imagine that 18-20 wouldn't be out of the question if you could keep her under 60 and stayed on the hard top.

i think i figured out my mpg right.....i went 450km on the weekend and that was a fuel tank of fuel so that's 279 miles our trucks hold 26 gallons of fuel...sooo.
279 divided by 26 = 10.7 WTF is wrong with my truck or am i figuring it wrong??

but if you have a hemi then you should betting around 12 or 13mpg especially with a newer ram. Idk what type of driver you are but may try to change your driving habits a bit or try a different gas station, I started using shell gas only (has a **** ton of cleaning agents and w/e in the fuel) and my economy went up

look for an Iphone/ipod touch app called roadtrip also, i use it to track my fuel economy (well before my rocker broke and a possible engine replacement is needed...) and it works really well, more accurate than the overhead display in the cab also. you can't rely on just that for your average economy

On my latest trip, I used 26.7 L (5.9 US gall / 5.9 Imp gall), and drove 226.2 km (140.5 miles). Thats 20.4 US mpg or 23.8 Imp mpg. That was driving at about 62 mph pretty consistently, 45-50 lbs pressure in tires, and K and N air. I was very impressed to get that mileage with the size of that engine. MDS all the way!
