Default K - Final Choices, need some help

05 Quad Cab, 2wd ram. Black sport, with black bumpers, tinted windows, chrome nerf an bed rails.

My options are:

--------
Option 1
3" body lift cost 434+680install
New tires may 33"
Total cost 2500 bucks im hoping
problem, have to keep the stock rims which are 20's but not my fav
--------

--------
Option 2
New tires 285's +new rims
Problem, no one is stocking descent 20's right now. My choices are basically xd797s and xd798s? also not sure whether to go chrome or black/chrome combo
cost=2500
--------

I guess if i can get past the rims, i'll get my truck lifted.
another issue with the body lift is i have duals out the back and i understand with a body lift there'd be aa 3" gap between the bumper and the tips - not sure what solutions are available....maybe i just dump the exhaust - would that be louder than straight pipes?

What would you do - 2500 is really my budget....and im on the fence, not sure the con's of a body lift..

Please give me some feedback, cuz, im probably gonna make a decision in the next day or two

Thx everybody

i think you could do all 3 for under $2500, IF you do the BL yourself. I have all my stuff priced out 18 or 20" xd spy's with 35" trail grapplers $1800 or $2100, and PA body lift $350 + gap guards $90 = $2240 or $2540

ive wondered the same thing about the exhaust... i think i would just shorten the hangers and hope it will pull up that 3"

You can find body lifts for WAY cheaper on amazon (for around $315 if i recall), that'll save you about $100 right there. Do you already have a leveling kit on it? If not the truck will still have the factory rake to it, only 3" higher. Also, with a body lift, you'll be able to fit 35's so you might want to look into that size tire otherwise you might regret not going big enough..

KMC's XD series has a lot of nice rims in 20", Moto Metal's are popular also.

You could have an exhaust shop dump your setup, that'll take care of that gap in the back, but straight pipes are definately going to be louder.

I say go with option one and put some 35s on there. But as others said unless you have a level already, you will need one if you don't like the rake. I think you should try to avoid the 20"s they don't ride to well. But they do look really good because at least they aren't some big "dubs" and have just enough sidewall to look good.

2 things this truck shop told me when i went in that i hadnt necessarily heaard of before.....

they wanted 700$ to level the truck total, vs 1000 for a 3" body lift....and he said that the leveling kits always come back to be removed because the ride sucks so bad, even with new shocks.....

then he also told me nitto tires were soft rubber and wear terrible?

Nitto's are a softer rubber but if you keep the rotated you can get pretty good life from them, I think they are a 40,000 gauranteed tire.

I'm not sure about that shop.. That's a ton of money for a leveling kit install and bodylift install.

Leveling kits ride fine with the right shocks.

Nitto's are guaranteed 40,000 miles.

I did my body lift myself and got my tires, wheels and 3" body lift for $2,400 when all said and done.

I have about 55,000 miles on mine and I could probably get another summer out of them. But probably not enough tread to be any good in the snow.

This guy must be smoking crack! Even with new keys and an alignment I leveled mine for under $100.

And you can do it even cheaper (free) by just getting under the truck and cranking the bolts. But you will most definitely need to get an alignment afterward.
