Default 2003 HEMI Starting Issue ***RESOLVED PG2***

***RESOLVED SEE LAST PAGE***

I park my Truck outside (which shouldnt make a difference). On the morning when I need to go to work it has the toughest time starting. Its turning over fine but doesn't fire for a good 5 to 6 times trying to start.

Around the 5 or 6 time trying to turn over it finally starts but it likes a cough start like its choking and then after a few seconds it starts up. Its weird and I can't pinpoint what it is.

Anyone have this issue?

TIA Matt

Ya they all were changed about 3000 miles ago...wires and plugs fully serviced by the dealer before I bought it. You think crappy plugs maybe?

Mine does the same thing. The TB and PCV are clean. I have Taylor shorty wires and NGK plugs that have been in for 2 years. The issue started last winter. I just hold the key in the crank position until after it fires the first time and wait until it actually starts. I get no SES light.

I changed out my whatnot and it didn't help at all. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Check all the plug wires, making sure they're seated snugly. There's a chance it's the battery. If you can borrow one for testing purposes, it may shed some light.

Hope it isn't the plug gap. That'll be fun to check.

Ya no kidding I definitely hope its not the gap. I have a family mechanic who could help but I dont want to have to pay to diagnose it and I dont have a ton of time to hunt it myself. The battery is good, had it tested its really strong and charges normally. What should the gap be on the plugs?

So basically I should check the gap, make sure everything is clean and go from there...no sensors you think like crankshaft position sensor or camshaft position sensor?

i would start with the small things and then start throwing new parts at it and eventually it will run good, find out what kind of plugs were used i guess the hemi doesnt like certain plugs but yeah even just taking out a couple plugs and looking may help

Now I recently replaced the intake as well since the one the guy had on it was ebay generic. The air intake temperature sensor was slightly broken but still works aparently, do you think that would effect it in this way? I mean the truck starts well after its warmed up (running errands and etc).
