Hemi engine swap! finally got it and starting swap, ill keep updating this as i go!
I don't think there's a lot of difference between an 04' and 05' ECM and harness..I know a lot about the 03',ECM + TCM setup, and the 04 ECM setup..But I've never wired a 2005.What did they change in 05'?
you have done a "dream come true" job here!
so if you have the 05 engine with wiring and computers. do I need a complete dash-wiring also. or is this possible to splice the hemi-computer to instruments of my 5.9 instruments?
I have the 5.9 2002 and hope to be able to do this change some time! (if my good old 360 ever fail)

I would recommend it. Don't change anything about the PDC or dash wires.
The PDC "power distribution Center" is the fuse box under the hood. It powers up the internal and external, lights, and tells the instrement cluster inside what to do,along with the inside fuse box, fuel distribution and powers up the ECM..
You'll need the wiring harness from the computer to the pdc and from the motor and trans-to the pdc and computer. The wires from the pdc to the cab- lights- horns etc....should all be left alone. If you look at the pictures on my thread. Dakota Hemi Swap with pics !!! I think page 6 -8 has some good pics of the wiring on my truck..You should see where I tied in the Dakota pdc to the Hemi motor and computers.I have 2003-2004 pin-outs.If you decide to go with a 2004 computer and wiring, you'll need them.
If you need assistance when you get started, let me know..

Hi HemiDak-Quad,
That was a lot of info you posted and it helped me too with my rebuilt engines for sale. Thanks for the solution.

I hope so.. . I looked into the 04' and decided to change my harness and wiring over to 04' from the 03'..I have everything to do it with..But Weedahoe brings a good point to the discussion.. Since the wiring from the 04' to 05' is so simular I should be able to use the 04' harness I have and just change the PCM..
Then I can do more with the 5-45RFE, through the tcm plug.."Right"..

I forgot about all the discussions BarnDog and I had about this swap when we were doing it..It was refreshing to go back to that part of this thread "and others"-and remember all those questions and answers .. I hope someone doing this swap in the future can learn what they need to know easier than we did..I have more hours behind this computer looking up wires and pin-outs than I do in the Motor swap itself..
