Default leveling kit or lift kit?

I am thinking about putting a leveling kit on my 04 ram single cab short bed. I do not know much about leveling kits or lift kits. Would i be beter off getting a 2.5 inch leveling kit or a 3 inch body lift? The truck is a 2wd and wont be doing any offroading so i am not even looking at suspension lifts. Also when you have a leveling kit installed and have, say 400 pounds in the bed, would the rear end of the truck dip down a big amount? I see this problem with alot of lifted trucks. Basically what i am asking is would i be beter off with a leveling kit or a 3 inch body lift? I just want the truck to sit a bit higer but nothing crazy.

Both, that would be ideal. And put some 34, 35 under there.

Even with a 3" body lift, you will still have the rake. The leveling kit will do just that....it will level out the truck. Do both and it will look sweet!

You could do the spacer leveling kit with longer shocks or do a 3" suspesion lift from Rough Country for $300...

thanks for the replies so far, but one thing i wanted to add is i would like to stick with the stock wheels and tires. And jram how do you think that suspension lift kit effects the ride quality? I really would like to keep the flush stock feel.

Suspension lifts are better quality ride than stock. I have rough countrys 6 inch lift on my 2wd 4.7 and it is awesome.

I think that Rough Country lift looks good and it replaces all 4 shocks and it has new longer springs instead of putting spacers. Great ride better than stock like oefootball_70 said & I don't think there would be a problem keeping your stock wheels & tires.

When i did have a leveling kit, I bought longer shocks, and it made all the difference in the world.
