Another Cop story
For his sake: I hope the officer wrote that warning out in order to better cover himself incase anything should come of it..
Who knows maybe he really THOUGHT he saw you without a seat belt on, like I said, people make mistakes.

He may have been looking for a suspect in a vehicle fitting your description. Happened to me once in my Mustang. I got pulled over for expired tags, the day AFTER I installed the new current decal. He ran my license and came back and apologized and said that I wasn't the person that he was looking for.
It only took a few minutes of my time and it was good to see that they were actually on the lookout for someone who could be a killer or something else.
My cousin has been a police officer for many, many years. He has always had to work most holidays and special events. They give up a lot for their jobs, not to mention risking their lives on a daily basis. He is a SGT detective and mostly teaches now.
My hats off to Law enforcement personnel. They really do a lot of what our military does, just on a local basis. Now I know that there are some out there that are a bit over zealous and let the job go to their head, but most are just normal guys/gals like the rest of us.
I think in your case Silver, he may have honestly not seen your belt on when he passed you. He did the right thing by just giving a verbal warning because he had no solid proof either way. He did get your attention though, huh??
I always were mine as well. It's a habit that I picked up in my early 20's ( the 80's) when I raced weekly at the local drag strip. I figured, hell, if I have to wear my seatbelt to drive 1/8 mile in a straight line, I probably ought to wear it when I'm out in the real world where 80 percent of the other drivers are idiots!!!
Glad to hear that you wear yours, my rides never go into gear unless myself and any passengers are strapped in.

i had it on the whole time. the guy was wearing sunglass which probably made it darker bc as u no i have the dark interior and i was wearing a dark jacket. im 95% sure it was just bc im young and have a nice ride and he just wanted to be a D*** and it was a verbal warning...
I wish every person that a cop screwed with a little bit filed a report and raised a little hell. The game would be a lot different and less one sided.
and steve if it was an honest mistake tell me why he could answer me when i asked why did i ALREADY have my seatbelt on when he came to my window?? it was like maybe 500 ft from where i turned to where i pulled over. it would have been obvious to see me putting it on if i wasnt wearing it
yea i know...
