Default Another Cop story

so just 30 mins i decide to wash my truck since it is nice out. I went to self wash and got it done. when i leave im at an intersection and had my windows down. a cop turns right on the intersection and then looks at me im not doing anything wrong, just at the light with my turn signal on. so the light turns green and i go. I look in my rear view mirror and he made a u-turn and turn left behind me. ok so i think to myself, wtf? i didnt do anything. so sure enough he pulls me over. great, first time ever this has happened to me.

he comes up to my window and ask me "why did I pull you over?" i said i have no idea officer, i didnt do anything wrong. he goes "cmon, you didnt have your seatbelt on" i was like yes officer i had it on. I always put my seatbelt on whenever i leave and this situation wasnt any different. i tried to explain to him POLITELY that i had it on and that i was wearing a darker color jacket that kinda blended in with the seatbelt. also asked him if he noticed me putting it on when he was pulling me over bc it was magically on when he came to my window. didnt answer that lol

so anyways he gets my dl and insurance and runs it. comes back and says "im not going to argue with u about the seatbelt bc i know you didnt have it on but im going to let u off with a warning since u have a clean record. i know i didnt get a ticket but it still pisses me off anyways sorry for the rant guys...

I think they come up with that one regardless if you do or not just because most people won't take the time to fight it and will usually just pay it.

and you would have won that easily.

All it is is a piece of paper, crumple it up and throw it away

He must have made an error if you really did have it on, he's human, humans make mistakes. Don't worry your record is fine.

S*** happends.

he may have been either biased or thought he recognized you, so he used the bogus seat belt excuse to pull you over and run you record, see if you had any warrants or anything.

know s*** he made an error its really not hard to tell when somebody is wearing their seatbelt especially since he could have seen if i was trying to put it on before we stopped...

he knew you had your seatbelt on, he was using it as an excuse to run your DL. They can't "profile" but they can run your DL if they pull you over for a seatbelt or other minor violation.

The odds are fairly high with a teen that they might get a "hit" for something and they got you. He also probably took the opportunity to see if the truck might have smelled like pot or alcohol.

When you were "clean" he gave you the warning for the seatbelt to cover his a$$...
