Default Engine light came on :(

Engine light came on. I took it to Advanced Auto to get the code. It was cylinder 1 misfire.
I replace the spark plugs.
Had code cleared.
It came back. Replace the coil on top of plug.

New error shows up with multiple cylinder misfires.
I check wiring to ensure that I put everything back nice and purty.

I took it to a mechanic. They went through the above checking my work and then checked the fuel injectors pressure. it was fine.

I was informed by the shop that it could be a blown head gasket or acracked heads.

I did a pressure test on all the cylinders. They all came back with around 160.

If it was a blown gasket/cracked head, wouldn't I have low pressure?

A friend suggested crankshaft position sensor and camshaft sensor position sensor reciting a dodge van he worked on a bit back had the same symptoms.

Any Gurus care to make a suggestion for a new guy?

Well the compression seems fine, and I think the position sensors usually throw codes. Is the truck running rough or just spitting the misfire code at you and running fine?

What engine? 5.7, 4.7, 3.7? 4.7's have head issues. If the pressures good your probably looking at a sensor. Also any loss of coolant at all?

I need to apologize for double posting. I looked for all post by me and none were listed so I reposted.

It running rough only when first started. After a few seconds it runs fine.

It is a 4.7. I do not have any coolant on my drive way. I didn't check the coolant lvl before taking it to the mechanic. I do not have the milky oil associated with antifreeze/coolant in the oil.

I appreciate it all suggestions.

When you changed the plugs what did they look like? Dark black, dry, wet, ect.

I replaced the crankshaft position sensor with np. It looked dirty but the o-ring was fine. I can't locate the camshaft position sensor. Any one able to shine some light on that? A pic would be beautiful. My haynes book says where but I can't locate it. I am an engine newb.

Found it. Just like book says front right. Passenger side. Key word Passenger. I was on wrong side.

Soinds like maybe a little coolant fouling the plug after shutting down the engine. Might want to do a coolant system pressure test to make sure you don't have a head gasket seeping. 4.7's are known to do this.
