Default Shocks for 04 Leveling Kit 2WD

We have touched on this on other threads, but I need to make a decision with better feedback.

I installed a 2.5" Leveling kit on my 04 2WD Ram and got a terrible ride. It is all due to the shocks allowing very little travel on the down stroke. I was adviced by Rancho and PerformanceLifts to stick to the stock length due to ball joint wear and contact.

Many of you have installed longer shocks and have no problem. I am still not sure what shock length to use in order to improve the ride and not cause any damage to my components. I am between 1" and 2.125" longer shocks.

Could I get some feedback from those of you who have knowledge or experience on the topic?

Keep in mind this is a 2WD.

I put a 2 1/2" level kit on my '03 almost two years ago. Rides just fine. Still the OEM shocks at 102K. If you're getting a bad ride, you may want to look at tire status.

If you go over 2 inches with coil spacers you should up grade shocks to bottomin out, The 2500 shocks will be 2inch longer and work fine should solve your problem

I do have brand new 305/55 R20 Nitto Dune Grapplers which are heavier than the 275/60 we get stock.

I checked my down stroke travel and I have only 0.5" travel. That's nothing!

I am gettin my 2.5 installed next week, you need to install 2500 shocks they are longer and will help with the ride. Do you have any pictures of your Ram with the leveling kit?

Here's my 07 with a 2.5" level & stock Ram 2500 (2" longer) Bilstein Shocks.

She's a little dirty

My only problem is t
he control arm hitting the shock bucket!
Looking for a solution to this...
