Default Performance Mods for my 4.7, or 7.0 Hemi swap?

Obviously the 7 liter beast is the way to go. But as our economy dictates, I don't have that kind of money. Which is gonna be more cost effective? I know performance parts for the 4.7 are limited, but are the power gains really substantial? All I have done to mine is a K&N filter, and Flowmaster 40 series muffler - dumped. I was thinking heads, cams, but with my 4.7 being a SOHC that means two cams, one per head. That can b expensive. So, guys, lend me your thoughts. What's the best way to go? I, for the record, am not a fan of superchargers. I believe power adders should not rob power to make power. Thus, that makes me a turbo guy. However, turbo's+4.7L don't equate to much. At least not that I can see. I'm not looking for my truck to out run a viper, although that would be nice, but I want something that definitely makes a statement, in both sound and performance. Thinking......sleeper.......LOL.

i say you just swap in a "7 Liter" it will bolt right up. haha, NOT!
I sure hope you forgot a "5." before that "7 Liter" because theres no such thing as a "7 Liter" Dodge motor
You can only do so much with that 4.7 before you are just kicking a dead goat... plus you said you dont have much money... that doesnt leave much room for improvement...

Not exactly, depends on who you get it from. Indy has a 426 3G hemi, and Arrington has a 440 version. If you're talking factory stock, then no. If you're talking factory aftermarket, then Mopar has a 392.

Maybe I got the actual liters of displacement wrong. But this is the motor I was referring to. Maybe before you go making rude comments about me not knowing what I am talking about you sir, should do your homework. LOL. All I was asking was for you guys opinion.

Thank you, finally someone who has an idea of what I'm referring to. I wanna keep it as factory as possible.

Lonestar,

I'm liking the Arrington motor. Thanks, didn't know that even existed. I saw some show where Kenny Wayne Shepard had a custom Charger built and that 426 FI Crate motor put in it. Thought it sounded like a good idea. Better then spending the same, if not more, money on souping up a 5.7. Obviously due to the lack of aftermarket parts for the 4.7 I'm already knowing that I'm gonna have to do a motor swap. Just a matter of figuring which one to swap.

sorry OP- i wasnt thinking out of the box
isnt the 392 a 6.4 liter tho? and while we're getting technical, the 440 is 7.2 liters...

so he must be talking 426

"Good Luck with that"

I know right? LOL. My thought was maybe I just wasn't looking in the right places for performance mods for the 4.7, maybe someone knew something I didn't. IDK. But hey, thanks for answering, and sorry for snapping at who ever made the smart a** comment about me not knowing what I was talking about. LOL. Hey, everybody makes mistakes once in a while. LOL.
