Yeah, no modifier if using RP. Maybe the level from the fill hole is different for certain years but Im fairly sure for my 04 its was 1/4" per AllData.

Thanks everyone! Dirty, Weedahoe, davb - you guys are great. I'll probably change my fluid next weekend, will let y'all know if I run into any snags so you can bail me out. :-)

You cant screw it up. At first, just make sure you take all the bolts out except the top two. Just loosen them real good and then place your oil pan under the rear end. Pop loose the cover so it "leaks" all or most of the fluid in the pan so you dont make a mess. Then take those last two bolts out and inspect/clean everything. Good luck and I am sure you will do fine.

Stick your pinky finger in the hole and make an educated guess. There isn't really an exact science to it.

Remember any of you with a DTT, use only Dino oil.
No synthetics.

Well I have read that on some sites but on eaton's site in the manual for the truetracs it says "The TrueTrac differential is designed to operate in those lubricants recommended by the vehicle/axle manufacturer for conventional differentials." I don't have any experience one way or the other w/ the DTT's but I do plan on putting one in my truck soon.
