I just wanted to update you all and let you know what muffler I decided to purchase to replace the magnaflow. I ended up picking the flowmaster 40 series delta flow. Ironic part about it is this is the first muffler I bought when I got the truck but decided to sent it back along with the many other mufflers I sent back lol. Hopefully this will give me the bark of the 40 series and the drone of a 50 series, but who knows we will just have to see. All I know is that I'm excited to get that flowmaster tone back. I liked how the magnaflow didn't drone much but then again it didn't bark much either so it kind of makes sense why it's so quiet in the cab. I'm having it installed next Friday, so until then I won't have anymore updates for ya guys.

Going down to pick the truck up from the exhaust shop with the new flowmaster 40 delta flow installed. Lets hope she sounds nice. I also had him swap out the rolled edge tips with some 45 degree slash cut tips, and had the cut-out removed. I'll get some videos and pictures as soon as I can...wish me luck lol.

headers and/or a better y-pipe will help a lil more but more air flow would equal more exhaust gases and a better tone. beef up your intake, throttle body, etc that should help alot too and would increase your driving experience more than a muffler might also wanna try a turn-down on the back. i have my magnaflow dumped and i love the sound

I rock a Cherry Bomb Extreme on mine. I get compliments all the time from people on how good it sounds. Its very timid at Idle and screams when you get on it.

Yep, adding headers, opened up Y/dual, cats (opened up/high flows/none), muffler location, exit location, opened up cai, better tb... All have an affect on how your exhaust sounds and the tone it gives off. You can adapt or change other things to get your exhaust to the point that you like it INSTEAD of going and switching out a muffler every few weeks.

I hope this muffler works out for you though, I imagine your garage is starting to look like a muffler shop right about now...

Your special passengers aren't going to like all of that droning!! I wouldn't.

Well as I had hoped, the muffler sounds awesome. It was the sound I heard when I started it up that I was expecting from the super 44 back in May. As soon as I started it up it made a loud growl and showed it meant business. To this day I still don't know why the super 44 sounded so mild but droned so badly. Driving with the 40 delta does have a loud drone, but not nearly as bad as the original 40 I used to have on my 2001, this is probably because it's the delta series. And the exhaust tips look much better in my opinion, I wasn't extremely fond of the rolled edge tip, it just wasn't aggressive enough for my taste. I had him remove the cut-out and run a fresh piece of 3" pipe from the magnaflow y-pipe all the way to the new flowmaster muffler as well so everything looks new and fresh under there again. I plan to sell the magnaflow muffler and magnaflow tips as a combo if anybody is interested as well as the dmh cut-out. I will have to get some videos up.

As far as drone, my clients all know me and my brother love our trucks lol. I think they prefer being in rigs anyday over the basic boring cars most of our staff drive lol. I've messed around a lot with trying to find a muffler to compensate for passengers but all that ever does for me is make me bored. Sure it can be loud for passengers, but most of the time I drive by myself, so I want it to make me happy. But as I always tell my exhaust shop, I will never promise to be done=)
