Default Anyone know how to Retrieve "hours" on our trucks?

I have an '04 Ram 2500 w/ Hemi. I know the overhead console has a monitor of "ET" or Elapsed Time which functions kind of like an hour meter for the truck. However, somewhere along the way in re-setting gas mileage stuff on trips I must have reset it as well. It only shows 37hrs, and I have 28,500 miles on it.

I'd like to find out if the "total time" is in fact stored in the computer and can be retrieved? Seems to me this would be useful info to an owner as well as the dealer (warranty purposes perhaps) in telling the true use of the vehicle as mileage is not always as telling.

Thanks

I thought there was a key trick you could do to get the total hours driven, I'm almost possitive that there was a thread about it not to long ago but Im not sure which site I saw it on, I think it was here though....

Thanks Truckin,

Found a thread on it, but it appears the "holding odometer" button to display hrs only works on Diesels. Have not found anything on a key trick ....yet.

On mine I cycle the key to "ON" but not running. I then push the trip odometer button and hold it for around 15 seconds until hours are showing.

^yup turn key to the run position and hold the odometer button and it will show the total hours your truck has ran. unless its had a reflash. It works on 03 and up to 05 forsure, gas or diesel. If it doesnt work the first time try a couple more.

Thats pretty cool and it worked on my 05.

So now I have the hours, now what?

2,959 hours and I have 81,000 miles on the truck.

Thats 27 miles for every hour. Damn I drive slow, lol

WOW, only 28,500 miles on an 04. Is this your daily driver?
Now I’m curious what everyone else has on their trucks. Hours and miles.
