2002 Dodge Ram Sputtering and backfiring issue
Ok I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 and this morning I start the truck and let it warm up a few minutes and then take off. I go to the stop sign and take off and the truck starts sputttering and backfiring so I put it in neutral and rev it up a few times and take off again and no more problems all the way to work. I leave work tonight and it does the same thing and then it is fine. The Check Engine light doesn't come on or nothing. What do you guys think it may be because I did a search and found nothing really! Oh yeah I forgot to say hello to everyone! Well hello and your help will be greatly appreciated! I have an extended warranty but it doesn't go into effect until Mon Nov 9 (Go figure)! Thanks

lol
Welcome to DF. Don't really have any useful information for you, I appologize, but hopefully you can get an answer here.
Prob gonna get asked a few things about the truck tho...
Mileage?
Has the maintenance been taken care of pretty well? (Fluid changed, spark plugs etc etc)
lol

How long did you wait till you started it up, in minnesota i'm sure you have a block heater but the plugs may just have been cold....
Just asking cause here in texas i used to put the key in and crank it up, but i went to college in kansas for a semester and it was about this time last year if i forgot to let the glow plugs heat up it do a similar thing for the first couple of miles lol
