I got my fan from a Taurus..it fit perfectly within the stock shroud so all I did was run screws from the fan shroud into the stock shroud..

Same here, I always carry the stock clutch fan with me too just in case there is a problem with the controller.

Now there's a bit of forward planning and experience for you.
Great idea about carrying the stock fan, in case of a failure.

Do any of you pull the stock fan shroud off? If so, What do you do with the overflow & washer bottles?

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...c-fan-diy.html and the wiring isn't a big deal, you just follow the instructions for the controller. If you plan on running the fan on high speed which is overkill then you will need a bigger relay.

If you want to remove the stock shroud then you will need to get a shroud delete kit from moesperformance. It's best to keep it b/c it directs the airflow over the entire radiator better.

Moe's only lists for 04 and up. Are you mounting the fan directly onto the radiator or into the opening of the shroud? Every fan I've found for the 3.8L Taurus comes with a shroud,

Do you have a pic of how yours is mounted?

When you buy the controller it will have simple wiring info with it. On the fan there are 3 wires. One is ground (black) and the other two are high and low speed. The easiest way to find out which is which is to just jump it to the battery

The controller is simple. This is how MINE was wired and the kit you get may be different but they all work the same.

Red was 12v constant
Yellow was 12v switched
Black was ground
Green went to the AC
Orange went to the fan (high or low, not both, only one)
Blue was to be used IF I had dual fans.

On mine I wired both red and yellow together so it will continue to cool after the key ifs off. Thats my preference

Moes makes a shroud delete kit but it is very costly. For these reason I kept my shroud on. Here are some pics

Well I actually mounted mine inside the shroud w/ some U shaped brackets that I bent and some others I had laying around, but most people mount it to the radiator like Weed and the DIY show. I think mounting it to the radiator is the simpler/quicker route as it took me a while to get everything right when I was making the brackets and mounting it in the shroud. The taurus fan shroud is small enough to fit inside the dodge shroud just like Weed's pics show.

OK, that's what I was wondering. Thanks. I thought about cutting up the old shroud but I'm not sure how much support that will leave for the bottles. As long as the new fan fits inside the old shroud, I'll probably leave it there, easy fix if I ever have to put the old fan back on like teach said.
