Doing 80, i'd be suprised if your fan even came on. At highway speeds, the wind passing through the radiator cools it better than your fan anyway. Get back to us after you've done heavy stop and go traffic in 90+, or pull a 10,000 lb trailer up those mountains.

Again, you'll rarely use the high speed, but when you need it, you NEED it. If you need it and dont have it, it turns into a very long frustrating day (dont ask me how i know)

Most fans are measured with nothing in front of them. Now imagine putting a fan up against a wall. How much air will it flow now? OEM Fans are measured by actual pull through a specific radiator.
I don't know much about the fan in the link, but I do know that better brands have Closer to actual output numbers rather than completely skewed and false numbers.
Just because it has a large relay and fuse doesn't mean it pulls more air either. That could mean the design isn't as efficient. i would reccomend all that have an E-fan that run other equiptment like stereo's or onboard compressors, to upgrade your alternator or battery.
Correct on all counts. The link, however, is not for a particular fan, rather the search. After having the clutch fan then going to the e-fan, the e-fan on low definently flows less cfm, but on high flows WAY more.

No the relay doesnt need grounded. Its grounded by the fan. Not sure I understand your second question. Are you asking what pins/numbers do what?

Once I got into cali, I did hit quite a bit of traffic. Stop and go for about 30 minutes, didn't have any issues. But then again it wasn't very hot outside. There were a few border control check points on the way, but wasn't stopped for very long, maybe 15 minutes or so.

Oh yeah, my MPG did increase. Last time i drove the entire way ( 375 miles ) without my A/C on and used a little over a half a tank, this time I had the A/C on the entire way and used a little under a half a tank.

So, when mounting ths new e-fan, does it mount right up where the old one did or is there some mods that need to be done?

There is no electric fan from the factory, so I had to make a few mounting brackets. Nothinhg fancy, and really easy really. Just took some aluminum, measured, cut, bent, and then drilled holes. The top ones bolt onto the holes an the top of the radiator. I also used some safety-wire to help secure the fan up against the radiator. If you do this, ust be careful not to make it too tight or pull too much, the fins aren't very strong.

simply...yes. if you're wanting to mod your engine performancewise...an efan is part of the equation. Like anything else electrical, the controller can go on the fritz so i always have my clutch fan with me (like a spare tire).
