and then i let the alpines play
so i just finished mine thanks for the help man but while i was working i got an idea instead of fishing the line thru that little hole and undoing everything i dound a little short cut. originally when i wired my speakers in i took the clip off the stock speaker where the stock wires connect and put that sodered that connection to my new speakers so it would just be plug and play so i dont have to cut anything. so now i just followed the wires that are already ran into the cab and clipped them there and wired those to the back of my deck. i wish i would have taken a pick to show better but i forgot. basically from the speaker to inside the cab is stock wire. the only question i have is the stock tweeters are those on there own wire and how did you wire yours.
thanks again
thanks again
i dont have the stock tweets hooked up right now. i was thinking about that yeasterday. these alpines put off plenty of highs already but when i get the subs installed, you never know. yeah you dont have to run all new wire but i am prepping for a 4 channel amp so i just got it out of the way
If i could start over, I would have installed a pdx150.5 pushing type x components front and rear, mrp m2000 pushing two 10" type x subs. And to top it off a alpine dvd touch screen with 0 guage power wire. and a AMG battery. This system would have been top notch.
yeah type-x would be awesome but i think for my older age(29) 2 10" type-r hooked up to a pdx-1.600 ran series parallel for a 4ohm load will suit me just fine. i did not get the amp installed today to little time but it is sitting there staring at me calling for me. i have been wanting one of these for about 3 yrs now and cant belive that i have it. it is the sickest amp i have ever seen. so small.
I will probably try that amp next or a alpine one. I have a Lanzar amp right now an its pretty cool just want all my stuff to match. Lol. but you will love the type r's i get compliments all the time. It's the only type of 10 i've heard than get almost as a low if not the same as a 12 in my fox box. (It's the old one) installing the new one when it gets to my door.. eventually.
Great thread, read through it all ^_^ I was wondering if the stock HU is capable of performing the task it's there for if I got all Alpine (HU may be in the future):
Front: SPR-69C's
Rear: SPR-17C's
Amp: MRP-F300
Should a capacitor be included in this set-up or could it do w/o one . . .
What gauge wires would you guys recommend for the amp,0/4/8? I'd run 16gauge for all the speakers as OklaHemi had done.
Thanks, really looking forward to doing this in the next month or two. Just getting all my chickens lined up and in order.
