Help me sell?
Guys,
I have decided that I cannot live without 4x4, and therefore, my beloved 2wd Ram must go. All hope is not lost, however, as I am going to try and replace her with another Ram but this time a 4x4. I would like to know your opinion on how much my truck is worth and what I should list it at:
1- The biggest problem I am going to have is that the truck has a Salvaged Title. It has never been in a wreck or had any damage, but it was stolen about 3 years ago and recovered in a parking lot about 6 months later. It had all emblems and stereo equipment gone. I have heard that this is basically going to kill me when it comes to re-sale.
2- It is a 2005 QC Hemi, 2wd, with ~50,000 miles. Has never seen a winter, no rust. Its an Arizona baby.
Features:
Hemi 5.7L
Magnaflow Catback Dual exhaust (SI/DO)
Hemi bedliner
Mirror defrosters
Tow Package
Chrome door handle upgrade
Stock LSD rear
Fog lights
Power driver seat / door locks / windows
Trailer Brake installed
Upgraded sound system (Panasonic deck + Pioneer speakers)
20" stock wheels
275/60R20 Cooper Zeon LTZ tires (~65% tread remaining)
Cruise control
Airaid Modulated Intake Take (replaced the "Hemi hat")
Matching Tint (not shown in my signature)
3- Condition
Exterior: Paint is fine, some superficial scratches, one deep scratch on driver's rear quarter panel.
Interior: Good condition. Tear in the armrest console leather, and a broken lumbar support.
Maintenance: well maintained with oil changes every 3k miles, rear diff changed at 30k, etc.
Given all this, what should I list it at for a private party sale? Also, what do you think I would get for it if I traded it in at a dealership? I have looked it up on NADA and KBB, but I am curious as to all of your opinions.
Thanks in advance.

Look up current market value in your area at www.kbb,com and www.nada.com This will give you an idea of what to ask.

Yeah, I did that.. but it doesnt tell me much considering I have a salvage title. Thats why I am having a hard time determining a price.
Thanks for the help.
So this is what I have come up with:
NADA clean retail = $16,525
NADA clean trade-in = $13,000
NADA (75% of trade-in) = $9,750
KBB "Good" Private Party = $16,655
KBB (75%) = $12,491
So if I sell it myself, and started at $13,500 would that be a fair price, and have a bottom line of $12,500? Its hard to come up with a price given all the extras I've put in to the truck.

13.5 is to high. I was lucky to sell my 05 Hemi 4x4 RC sport for 14.5K a year and a half ago, clean title 33K miles. I am with OE, 8-10K would be your range if you really want to sell.

Problem is that aftermarket extras are pretty much worthless in vehicle sales. Your taste do match others, IE, If I were to buy that truck the first thing I would do is junk that flowmaster and put a gibson or magnaflow in there. Also from the point of view of buying a vehicle it is hard to appreciate addons if you didn't put them there.
IMHO, Better than NADA or KBB, Look around for similar trucks for sale take the average sale price and subtract $1,000 for the salvage title. When you put up the ad I wouldn't mention the salvage title until you are talking directly with the buyer and can fully explain it. Alot of people see salvage title in the ad and don't bother reading any further.
In my personal experience KBB and NADA are useless, As vehicles are only worth what people are willing to pay for them, nothing more or less. And while KBB/NADA can attempt to compensate for the area, they really can't.
A good example of that is a minivan I sold for $2,000 over the valuation. The guy tried to talk me down citing KBB values and I pointed out that he wouldn't find another van like it within 100 mile range for less and if he could I would give it to him for free. He came back with the money the next day.

I am with RT and OE, if i were looking for a truck fitting your peramiters, i wouldnt pay more than 9. But thats just me. Where you live DOES have some bearing but that salvaged title is gonna hurt.
They raise a very good point. Get on auto trader and search trucks that are similar to yours. If you have the original items, put them back on and sell the add on separate. I've done that before. I really didn't expect kbb or nada to put the values that high. If you can access it, pull the Black Book value. That is updated weekly.
