I was told the dealer had to turn the Mopar EVS II security system on... About 1 hours labor. I have the Keyless already on my truck. Please let me know how you make out with the Mopar EVS II security system .

well first to even have a chance at making out with a securty... first you gotta bring her flowers. then chocolates.. then ask her back to your place.. then start a nice warm fire then sit down on a furry carpet and put your arms around her.. and the rest is history

Dont forget the soft music, ACK...THAT will trip her trigger.........

By the way, when I lived in Cal, a guy I knew had a lambroghini, and he had the best, kick *** system I ever saw... if you got within 2 ft of the car it would warn you, and if you touched it, well...sparks would fly, and you got ZAPPED like a Tazer... and it knocked you on your ***...... too friggen cool.... but I heard they outlawed them right after I left.... had it custom made, and was the **** for alarms......

Have you had this EVS II installed yet and what was the final cost after having your dealer program the sentry key?
Thanks in advance.

I still haven't put the EVS in yet...it seems like they cross threaded the screws holding the panel under the steering wheel. It won't come out and seems like I'll have to drill it out. The instructions for the EVS don't require the computer being programmed, but I did get the sentry key system with it and it does need programmed, so once I am able to get the thing apart, I'll have to take it in for programming so the computer recognizes the sentry key.

I got a Viper 671XV system put on my Ram at Best Buy.

It had remote start and keyless entry and killstart. Best Buy will install for FREE BUT you have to know that it costs extra to install the kill start even though its in your kit. I also bought a backup battery in case someone snips the battery terminal, that costs to install too. So its not really a FREE install if you want to be safe. The sensitivity is adjustable (mine's a lil dumb right now) and the model I have will alert me when someone is tampering with my car via the keyless entry FOB. I think, in the end I paid slightly over $400 for kit and install but it does have a lifetime warranty and any best buy can service it.

Is this VIPER something that would void the manufacturers warranty once the wiring harness is tampered with?

This is what I'm looking into...

Viper GPS Tracking System

WingViper, do you know if your security system will work with the Viper Tracking System linked above?

(I know, I know.. It'll be about $1,000 or more to get everything installed but, considering the price I paid for my truck, it'll be worth it. Besides, it makes the insurance cheaper. )

I looked thru the page you posted and it says it is compatible with a 2-way responder type remote, but you DO have to pay for both systems, you can't just do it with the GPS system, though it appears you can do alot with the phone.

ram419, the warranty is voided if you mess with the wiring harness, but you may be able to have the installers mess with it, depending on your upgrade. Personally, I want to add a tailgate sensor to set off the alarm if someone gently lowers my tailgate to get stuff out of my bed. I've been able to lower my tailgate and not set off the alarm when I've merely forgot that the alarm was on and didn't set it off.
