Default 2003 4.7l stock alarm is s**t

So pretty much my alarm is garbage. Its the stock one that came with the car. And im not sure how it works, beacuse it never... never goes off. Some times my buddies are all in the bed of my truck. I was expecting it to go off from the truck being moved around so much but nothing?

Ive tryed to turn it off by sitting inside locking it and pulling the unlock pin up. nothing at all..
whats the point of an alarm if all its good for is the panic button!

Its not a real alarm. Its just locks the doors and thats all. If you want a real alarm go with something aftermarket. If you always trust in OEM equipment you will always be dissapointed.

Yeah it's rather interesting, goes off when the door or hood are opened while it's active, as well as if all 4 wheels were lifted off the ground (wheels being stolen haha). But get this when we were out riding, I was still asleep and had the small goat cart in the bed when the guys woke up before me the had unloaded it most likely moving it around and what not, but not actually setting off the alarm.

All in all, everything inside is safe by the alarm but say bye bye to what ever is in the bed of your truck

He's right, that's all it is panic button and keyless entry.

I think it only goes off if the door unlocked by something other than the key or fob while active...meaning the window is broken. Try it yourself, roll the window down, arm it, and pull the pin up and open the door, see what happens. It's factory stuff, some people don't want shock sensors proximity alarms.

Well, it's kinda hard to protect an open bed without over sensitive motion sensors that will go off every time the wind blows!!
