is this normal?

hey guys,got my new pcv valve in the mail today and put it on no problem. when i took the old one off i found oil all inside it and in the hose that connects to it - is that also normal?

It was probably clogged, but some oil isn't unusual. When you shook the old one did it rattle? If not it was most likely clogged up w/ oil and it's good that you replaced it as a pcv that isn't functioning can cause increased sludge buildup in your engine.

Yes it did rattle even though it was filled with oil. When i cleaned the tb the stock air intake even had oil type residue inside it.
