Default Need some input, might go 35s

Alright, so I found a guy that would possibly trade me some black moto metal 951s with 35s for my rims.

My only concern is making them fit on my truck since I'm stock.

I think I have a few options here, but I want some input.

I know I can crank the tbars, but I am a little afraid to do this because I don't want this to cause me problems down the road or whatever...

Obv I can lift my truck, body or suspension, but that's a bit pricey for a spur-of-the-moment thing for me.

Or I can put a level kit on that would run me like $150 I believe and that would allow me to fit them as well with nothing else done I believe?

The ideal one would be cranking the tbars since that would be the cheapest (free + alignment lol), but as stated I am a little afraid to do it...

crank 'em! i just did mine, have to get an alignment and shocks eventually (because they top out sometimes) but other than that i can clear my 35's just fine... those motos would look sick on your truck..

Haha I was hoping you would post, nick told me you are pretty knowledgeable on this and suggested I PM you.

I know I can just read and find out most of this, but I learn better if I am involved, so I started my own thread to fire up a discussion that I can be involved in instead of just reading. I retain information better when I am "hands on".

=\

What do you think Hammer?

He thinks you should read more. This has been discussed ad nauseum and there are endless threads about it. You can crank your tbars to make them fit, but realize you will have zero room for articulation should you plan to actually go offroad. You can only stuff so much tire in there....

A start, article written by a very learned man, idol o' millions, a legend in his own mind:

But the bottom line is the 'frog is right. Big difference 'tween fitting a tire and having it be functional.

Hahaha, alright cool I'll check that out after I eat.

I see your point about cranking the torsion bars. Do you think that if I got just a leveling kit the truck would fit those 35s without a problem, or would I need to do more than that? Can you combine a leveling kit with a body lift, or are they basically the same thing?

level for you is basically the same as cranking the tbars. it will only level out the truck. so if you do a bl too you will be adding 5'' on the front and 3'' on the back which is what dedogg has done.
