HID Flicker and LampOut Help
Hi Gents,
I installed my HID kit tonight and have the lampout issue, but more importantly the flickering. I'll try find some time find to the solution on this but I am extremely busy and need the truck for sure on Friday night. Can anyone help me out and direct me to the way I can fix the flickering of the HIDs and possibly the Lampout light? I know it has something to do with voltage, just need help on what I need to fix it.
I'd really appreciate it guys.

There are seriously a lot of threads on this. Do some quick searching and you will quickly find how to resolve the issue. I would post the link for you but im on my laptop and everything is on my desktop which is down right now.
I know there are a lot of threads, I have been searching for the past while. MOst of them are guys saying just that "search there are a lot of threads on this". Or, you need a capacitor or a resistor. But no real How To or deinate answers.
Not trying to be rude guys, just really need some direction. I have no problem doing some wiring myself if need be, I can go by parts I need locally.
I'll keep looking, hopefully someone can guide me a bit here? If I knew what the fix was I would write a How TO thread on it for a definate fix.
THanks!

A real answer is that you need resistors to trick the PCM and turn out the Lamp Out and stop the flickering.
Here is a link and here are the resistors. Also here are some pics of mine

Thanks for the info. It looks like its the resistor wired in then right? My buddy says I should just pull the DRL relay from the truck which would get rid of the Lamp Out light, and just buy a relay kit to stop the flickering, dont bother using the resistors... I get the point of the resistors as they are connected to the High Beam light simulate a load for the DRL's which stops the LampOut. Could a guy just pull the DRL fuse and all would be fine? What causes the flickering, not enough juice, hence going to the battery directly?
He said just buy this:

Issue is, I'd like to get it built and fixed by Friday, no way I'd get that by Friday. Plus if I had a wiring schematic I could probably do it myself for a lot less.
Thoughts?

BTW none of the jpgs in that link are working.. I've been calling aroudn this morning to a couple shops and this kind of makes sense. I guess I do have to go the resistor route and not worry about the relay... Apparantly the trucks computer doesnt see any bulbs in place at all because the load of the HID's is too small. So it pulses the voltage from what I am told which causes the flickering. So you have to put a load on both the low beam and high beam circuit to simulate the load, stop the pulseing and stop the lamp out. So really you don't need a relay...
I hope I got this right, its confusing. Now I just need to figure out how to wire them.
Weedahoe, are those your factory harneses you wired the resistors in to, or the HID's connecter to me. That plugs in to your factory harness. But your second photo looks like the wire goes out of the connector and back in. you dont have it going to the ballast?

I do use a relay but they are used to carry to power load from the ballast and keep it off of your OEM headlight wiring. The headlight wire will power and energize the relay coil but the contacts on the coil that carry the power are wired to the battery. On a SPDT relay they are 30/40 amp contacts. The relay has nothing to do with what the PCM sees as far as the Lamp Out goes. Thats why you need to resistors to trick the PCM because it monitors the headlight circuits.
if you are using DRLs i assume you are in CN and you need to go to your profile and add your info in so everyone can see it and help you better.

The kit I have was made my the truck and not a general kit. You do need a relay to carry the voltage load. The kit I have is made to plug into the truck but it is a much more costly kit. I think around $180ish. That second plug simply plugs into my pass side HL harness. The HID bulb itself is powered by the pass side ballast which is wired to the relay as well as the drivers side ballast and HID bulb.
