Question Suspension Guys... Got a Question

This really does not fall into the lifted or lowered catagories but, If I was wanting to upgrade the stock suspension to get the best overall street performance and handling what would I need to do? I need to get some ideas or a plan of some sort as to what would need to be done and am not to sure where to start.

The rear Sway bar helped out quite a bit as did the bilstein shocks, but there has to be more that can be done up front / in back to help out the handling and overall ride quality.

I'm also not completely opposed to dropping it a little as long as it is a result of an upgrade. In other words it has to serve some other purpose than just looks or its not going on my truck, I am NOT looking to slam it/drop it unless it is a result from replacing something that an upgrade or improvement over the stock equipment and will help improve the overall handling and overall ride quality.

well lowering it and stiffening the suspension is for looks but also it lowers the center of gravity and tightens the ride with stiffer springs. SO regardless, lowering a truck does improve handling.

I would say new shocks, unless you replaced them already. i had bilstien 5100s and they were a bit stiff for me. But I think they handled the turns better then the stock shocks. Personally I have a friend with a 2500 and a four inch lift. His truck corners like it is on rails. i think it is because the leaf springs are so stiff on the 2500s? I haven't done any research on the topic, just personal experience.

Regular cab SRT-10 front coil springs. The reg cabs are stiffer, but the QC SRT springs are the same as the reg 1500 front coils.

I would say caltracs and look at a 2/4.5 drop. I know a lot of the faster trucks are running about that. Now is it the mods or the lower, idk. But It will not hurt it.

I actually got to look under one of the new ones the other day, and they use the same frame as ours. I would say to do what I plan to do, which is adopt a rear coil suspension from the new ones and convert to four link and coils. The front end is pretty sturdy, but still livable to begin with.
