Well the 4.7 in the 2002 Rams have had many known issues, ie heads warping, timing chain issues, engine sludge (not just from people waiting to long change oil and filter), and knocking. I also have tried to get info from the other guys on this site that have done this conversion and did not get any reply... so... I asked specific questions and I am just looking for useful information that can help me.

Update: Got the wiring and sensors off of the new tranny to put on my existing one. I have seperated the tranny from thw hemi as well and am now taking off the wiring and sensnsors off of my existing tranny. I am also working on seperating the wiring from the dash and ecu. It's going pretty smooth so far.

I don't know if your still going with this thread but I'll take the chance.I'm doing a 5.7-Hemi swap too.I have pictures on DodgeForum.com-under Hemi Swap with pictures "HemiDak-Quad.
A few things you do have right..A 4.7 is junk. The port holes are too small for today's oil they clog up.To get any kind of horsepower out of them costs more money than they're worth.A cam kit is over $700.00 and it only adds 30hp to a week motor.
Hemi swaps are not all that bad.Relocate the motor mounts notch the cross-member and install motor. The wiring harness is the hardest part about it.It's very important to get as much of the harness off the donor truck as possible"Including ECM-and TCM"...if it has both. It's well worth it considering your removing a 240hp motor that would take $2,500.00 to squeeze 300hp out of,and installing one with 340hp from the factory. It's not hard or that expensive to get 400hp out of a Hemi motor. That's all you need to pull any Boat,camper,exc........and still have the luxary of a Dakota Quad cab, sport or which ever of the Dak's you like.
I love my Quad Cab.It has enough room for the family and now it's going to have enough horse power to pull my 22'foot Grady white."And whatever else I want to pull".I need a wiring harness for a 2003 Ram Hemi W/6'foot bed.Any-one with one please write me @ gbgbrose@yahoo.com.Thanks...........
