i don't have a class three but i was wanting to know what will my bumper handle as far as tongue weight and tow weight if i just put a ball on it?

 

Taint much, without looking it up, I'd say about 2000# tow and 200# tongue...

 

In the owners manual of my 08 it says the bumper can pull up to a 2000 lb trailer with around 300 lb toungue weight. I've seen people pull more than that on a factory bumper but I wouldn't want to. The towing package was one of my main priorites when I bought my truck.

 

I thought most bumpers were rated at 500# tongue and 5000# tow.
I'll have to look at mine tomorrow.

 

That's propably what you bumper says, mine does, but if you have the towing package the ball holes on the bumper go directly into the top of the reciever hitch.

 

I have the tow package. I can tow about 8400 I believe. I have a weight distributing hitch as well so I can have 1200# tongue weight

 

The bumper says 500 and 5000 but it'll easily do more, just don't slam on the brakes you'll roll the bumper under the truck. I've never screwed a bumper up but i've made it home with a 64hp tracter on a twenty footer if you look real hard you can see where it warped but it's not bad
