Default BCM question on 2003

I"think" the BCM needs to be (checked, flashed?)not sure really, but my power door locks stopped working w/fob and both inside switches.

I was told that only the dealer can "reprogram" to get power door locks working again.
True?

Thanks,
Eric

try unplugging the battery with the headlights on... it drains all the power out or the pcm or something... worth a shot. it worked for my truck when the overhead wouldnt work. but the overhead is controlled by the pcm, not sure if the locks are..

I will try that. I did unplug battery over night, but did not put lights on or rather put headlight switch on.
How long did you leave battery disconnected?

Thanks,
Eric

yeah, there is a BCM, although I've always heard it referred to as CTM (Central Timer Module).
Could have lost it's mind, rare, but happens. More than likely it will have to be replaced, about a $300 dealer part. Then must be programmed from your vin # based on the electrical features of your particular truck.

At some point I believe they integrated it with the PCM which is the main computer controls the whole vehicle, not sure what year they did it, may be all the 3rd Gens.

In which case you can try your PCM reset, and check fuses, after that, if not working, it's probably call the dealer time...

Thanks,

Eric
