Default Family Vs. Truck

Ok so do we got people on here with familes, and QC/MC trucks?
QC peeps pros and cons of your family riding in your truck?
MC peeps pros and cons of your family riding in your truck?
This is mainly a what would you sacrifice or did you already for the truck!!Would you just deal with it and make it work or if you could, would you change the Truck?

Here is what I can say. We bought our 09 TRX QC back in April with our 4th child on the way. We did not want to get a SUV and a truck would prove more beneficial to our growing family. We limited ourselves financially to the price of the QC truck. The truck seats five well with our oldest child being 7. I think they have plenty of leg room in the rear seats. Once the baby was born in September, we found that the passenger front seat had to be moved so far forward that my knees and my wife's knees were in the dash. To remedy that we had to use the baby carrier without the base just using the seat belt to secure the seat. Doing that freed up a few inches of front passenegr leg room. The only thing I don't like about the 6 passenger seating arrangement is that the center area up front only has a lap belt. My 7 year old sits there and we are still comfortable. I realize now I would much rather have the crew cab just to get a little more leg room for the kids so the two year old isn't kicking me in the back while riding in her car seat. However, a year or so more and a few more inches and she will graduate to a booster and will not be kicking me anymore. All in all I think the truck is a great fit to our family and our needs. It rides great, seats us comfortably, and still has enough power to satisfy me with the 4.7. What more can I say.

well I have an 04 QC and it does fine for me plenty of room up front and people can ride easily in the back even tho it is a little tight. If you have a full truck full of adults it will be a little tight.
The cab option you should really look into is the crew cab my father works for dodge and gets demos and he had the TRX crew cab and you can notice the cab is bigger and the amount of space is perfect mix between a mega cab and a regular quad cab. I am 6'4" and felt comfortable sitting in back with my 6'3" brother sitting in the seat in front plenty of space still not a huge truck. You do loose some bed space on the truck though due to the bigger cab.
Hope this helps

I have an 04 QC and it has plenty of room for adults in the front and my kid in the back. Personally, I don't find the back to be roomy enough for most men, but my wife can fit back there with no problems.

Wife, myself, 2 kids and a baby and we can still fit another in the truck with enough space for each. Not much of a sacrifice on anything really. Actually a step up from my Mustang!

See sig...

I've "played" this very game all of my adult life. Every choice was a compromise. I'd get a big truck and figure it could do everything, but then I had to drive the big truck everywhere - and that flat didn't make me happy. Gas mileage sucked and the big trucks were not all that comfortable to begin with. Add to that the fact that I'm a "sports car" kinda guy and the truck "compromise" just wasn't working. Basically I've learned (from trial and error) that compromise means nobody is happy.

The truck I really wanted was a single cab (which can't haul much in the way of people). So I sold my Tundra Double Cab, bought the Corvette, moved the wife into a four door performance car (Pontiac G8 GT) and THEN bought the truck I wanted in the first place.

Fortunately - I could afford to do this. If I was younger I'd look at the smaller truck and a less expensive family hauler.

I am struggling with the same problem. Now i have a 09 malibu for mileage, but lookin at 2010 reg cab slt. Truck has what i want but i also have 3 kids. Yea they are little now and wife says she is fine getting a reg cab because we have a dodge caravan, but am i making a mistake? I drive about 30 miles a day and dont really think i need a quad for everyday driving. Forgot to mention im trading in the malibu for the truck, so i decided to go for the 4.7 which is plenty power for me. or shood i man up and get the hemi? I do keep my foot out of it but test drove the hemi the other day and think i would be just getting in trouble with it.......HELP ME HERE GUYS!!!!!!!!

The 2009 model have the Crew Cab and the seats are 6" longer than the Quad Cab. You so sacrifice on bed length, I think appx 5'7".

For me, I was considering it if I had purchased new. By couldn't justify having to pay monthly payments for something I don't use all the time.

The back seat for the kids works out ok, but my kids are still young. To make the ride more comfortable for them is keep the back floor cargo extended out, so the kids can actually rest thier feet on some kind of floor. Other than that, The family likes having the bed area to play on while we park and wait for the wife to shop.
