Hey guys.
How did you do the lids on your lights on your 05 down?

 

put tape one the headlight where you don't want to get paint and then paint the exposed area to the color of your choice. To help with the darkness so no light would get through I did about 4-5 coats of Niteshades and then painted over that.

 

how did you keep everything straight and matching between left and right side? Knowing me, Id end up looking like I was winking at people.

 

well theres lines on the lense its kinda hard to mess up....

 

Lol it's ok I am the same way, use the horizontal lines on the headlight for guidance on how much headlight to leave exposed to the niteshades and/or paint. Here is a pic:



As you can see there are horizontal lines on the headlight, I used that to make the headlights as symmetrical as I could and went past the third line just a bit and copied it on the other headlight.

 

Eyelids are good.

 

Ok, Thanks. Ill give it a crack, Worse I can do is screw it up, lol. One other question, Is there a local places I can get the nightshade paint?

Aftermarket headlights, No lines, I think Ill still give it a crack, lol.

 

Even without the lines you can just measure them so that both sides match.

 

Most autoparts stores carry it
