i had my exhaust guy fab up a larger y-pipe for my dakota n than went with a single 3 inch cat back, everyone always asks, what type of duals do you have, an they are shocked when i tell them its only a single, but magnaflow or cherry bomb are decent systems, stay away from flowmaster,

Lous want $475 for a magnaflow and $425 for a flowmaster setup. I just want it loud but i dont want any fancy tips or pipes, id like to just go with the muffler andcy pipe if that will get me what i want anf for half the price.

that will definitely get you loud at half the price then. magnaflows sound great too, but imo are too mellow at idle. thats why i went with aeroturbine. but, pretty much any muffler with a strait through design, such as magnaflow, or aeroturbine will be loud, and flow great.

Is that the price they're giving you to install the new y and muffler? The y should be 20-25 and the 85-100 for the muffler, then the install should only be like an hour of labor. I had my shop cut out the factory y and run some new pipe to match up to a new dual in single out magnaflow, which has the y built in and it was like $280 for everything.

That price was for the whole setup without a y pipe. I havent gotten a price for just a y and muffler yet
